Cat's life
Most cats lived to 11 or 12 years. Some even live in 18, and rarely are: 20 or more
years. It depends on whether the cat is kept inside or put out walks. Outdoor cats live
about 8 years, but only in keeping the animals often reach 15 or more years of age.
Cat food mixture MUST…
Cat food should be properly balanced six major nutrient groups:
proteins, fats and oils, minerals, vitamins, carbohydrates and
water.
...
Coat care
Cat hair grows all year round, specialy in spring and autumn. Long-haired cats
need to comb every day, but shorthair - about once a week. Regular cat hair
care can help detect if the cat has a parasite or a problems with the skin or hair.
Bathing
While many cats do not like water, they NEED to wash.
They just need to tame from an early age. Cats should be
washed in warm water and washing the cat's hair as soon
as possible to be drained and the animal should be kept
warm.
Hygiene
Cats are known as very clean and cared for animals. Cats, to bring order his body,
using paws and tongue help. Places that a cat can be reached with the tongue, is
neat paw without assistance, but for example, to clean their ears. A cat must first
moisten your feet with your tongue and then rub against the cleaning site.
Size
Average length of an adult cat from
nose to tail is 50 cm. Females are
smaller than males, but it mainly
depends on the breed. According to
the Guinness Book, the largest cat
has reached a length of 121.9
centimeters.
Poisonous household goods,
automotive products (oil, gasoline,
etc.), children's toys and small,
sharp objects can damage your cat:
the cat will go to them, the
consequences may be different:
they may be toxic, causing injury to
themselves, etc.
The idea of a new kitten at home can be exciting and irresistible.
Here are some suggestions in connection with a kitten that will help
your new friend to feel stable, and the warm welcome.
Cat’s box
Most kittens will understand how to use the box if the first
time. You can help the kitten to understand why it meant box,
placed him there after a meal.
If you play, and caring for your pet at least an hour a day, he quickly
gets used to you and new homes. If you have small children at home,
then you should explain that the kitten is not a toy but a living
creature, who has been nurtured with respect and care.
Cat characteristics
The cat is individualist, and his nature is much more controversial
than we usually imagine. The cat is in the split-personality. Still at
home it can be a gentle, friendly and obedient, but the excitement,
fear, anger, or when in the woods, it shows all the wild cat traits. It
can hunt, fight, attack, effectively defend themselves and protect their
territory, as the marksman his genetic ancestors.
Summary!
1) The cat's diet must be very rich: it must contain proteins,
fats and oils, minerals, vitamins, carbohydrates and water.
2) Cat hair grows all year round and the need to comb.
3) Cats wash themselves, but we also need to wash them.
4) Spend with a cat as much time as possible!
Cat claws serve both hunting and
fighting, and gripping objects. Before
the killing of prey, cats are usually just
hold it with nails. Nails also serve to
stay close, like a tree. For all these
purposes a cat's nails must be sharp.
Are you ready to take care of a dog ?
What you need to knoW about dogs…
You and your dog, a long-lasting
story ! It’s a real couple. Can you
give your new friend good life
conditions and all the attention it
needs ?
Dogs’ average lifespan is about 13
years. But some live only up to six
years while others can live up to 20
years!
Health
The dog must see a vet regularly. He
will vaccin the dog and he’s the person
you must see if the animal has a health
problem. If your dog doesn’t behave
normally, call your vet for a check-up.
Sometimes dogs behave oddly when they
have a health problem.
Of course, just like its master, the dog needs to exercise: it’ll be
the perfect match for your long walks…And going out will be
necessary for your dog’s basic needs:
Hygiene
It’s necessary to bathe your dog, in order to keep its skin and
hairs clean. When the puppy is under 6 months, you should avoid
baths, but then you’ll need to pay extra-
attention to its hairs. Dirty parts will be
rinced under warm water. You need to really
dry the puppy carefully afterwards.
When the dog is adult, and healthy, you can bathe
him as often as necessary, using a special dog
shampoo. Be careful with the dog’s eyes and ears .
OOOOOPS ! I did it again !
Food
It must be adapted to the age, the weight,
physical activity, health:
dry dog food , canned dog food
, candies like bones .
But you can’t give us chocolate !
Young puppies usually get their meals three or four times a day.
Puppies need that much food to grow up healthy. Most experts think
that a pup under twelve weeks of age should be fed four times a day.
If your pup is between three and six months of age, then three times a
day is good.
Many people feed their adult dogs one time each day. But
experts have found that by dividing that meal into two separate meals,
one in the morning and one in the evening, your dog won't get so full
and will feel better to run and play. He will also enjoy eating two
times instead of one.
Different ages, different needs
You must be careful with the puppy. Yhe
most important part is when the puppy
discovers its master and its environment.
The puppy must be between 4 and 5
months old.
Your puppy must learn to trust things
around. He must discover different places every day, new objects, new
people, new noises. Take it to 3 different places in the week. Your
puppy must learn to be confident.
The old dogs need completely other things. Some walk slowly,
others lose their senses. You must, as with puppies, stay patient.
You must be careful with
your dog. It needs a
comfortable basket, an
agreeable tempreature and
a quiet environment.
Name your new friend!
You will also give a name to your dog. Each year corresponds to
a letter!
Choose a name you like as you’ll be using it all the time: you
must enjoy the sound of it! Pick a one or two syllable name.
Here is a nice site to find a name: WAF! That’s my name!
HOT TO BE A CAREFUL ANIMAL OWNER – CHICKENS.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
The chicken (Gallus gallus domesticus) is a domesticated
fowl, a subspecies of the Red Junglefowl. As one of the most
common and widespread domestic animals,
and with a population
of more than 24 billion
in 2003, there are more
chickens in the world than
any other species of bird.
Humans keep chickens
primarily as a source of food, consuming both their meat and
their eggs.
There are many races of chickens. They can live even 16 years.
The first pictures of chickens in Europe are found on Corinthian pottery of the 7th century
BC.
THE NAME:
Adult male
chickens over the
age of 12 months
are primarily
known as cocks
or roosters. Males
under a year old are cockerels. Castrated roosters are called
capons. Females over a year old are known as hens,
and younger females are pullets. Babies are called chicks, and
the meat is called chicken.
CHICKENS AS A PET:
Chickens are sometimes kept as pets and can be tamed
by hand feeding, but roosters can sometimes become
aggressive and noisy, although aggression can be curbed
with proper handling. Some have advised against
keeping them around very young children.
Certain breeds, however, such as silkies and many
bantam varieties are generally docile and are often
recommended as good pets around children with
disabilities. Some people find chickens' behaviour
entertaining and educational.
FOOD:
Chickens need fresh water. They like all kinds
of cereals, for
example the corn in
their diet causes that
the eggs become
more orange and tasty. Chickens likes small insects and fresh
grass.
PLACE TO LIVE:
Chickens need some space
where they can sleep and
lay eggs. The place should be dry and closed – they
feel more safe. Chickens have a lot of natural
enemies: foxes, weasels, pine martens; even cats or
dogs.
CHICKEN DISEASES AND AILMENTS:
Chickens are susceptible to several parasites, including lice, mites, ticks, fleas, and intestinal
worms, as well as other diseases. Despite the name, they are not affected by chickenpox,
which is generally restricted to humans.

How to be an attentive owner
to your horse
The horse(Equus caballus)
ROMANIAN TEAM
How to take care of a horse?
Horses need constant care. They must be cleaned and
brushed once a day.
Hygiene
The hygiene has many
functions: clean the hair
and skin of dust, dandruff
and sweat. Brushing is
also a massage, having a
very important role for the blood flow throughout the body.
Therefore invest time in your horse’s hygiene because
it’s not only about cleaning the dust, but also about health
problems discovery. This every day ritual also strengthens
the trust and the relationship between the keeper and the
animal.
Horses are noble animals and have been
considered pets since ancient times. In our days
many people want to have horses for different
reasons : for transport, sports, farms or simply
pets.
For a healthy skin and hair we need not only a brush,
but also:
- currycomb out of rubber, plastic and metal
-a soft brush and a hard one for the roots -a comb for the ridge
-a tool for cleaning hooves
-soft cloths
-a sponge
Feeding
Remember!!! A diet based only on grass and cereal isn’t the best. Horses, like people and like other animals, enjoy the flavors.
Why are premixtures, vitamins, feedfibrous and juicy
com-plementary foods good for?
It is very important to know what a horse’s diet should
include in order to grow strong
and healthy .

Horse Diseases
Horses are sensitive animals that require a lot of
involvement and commitment.
Unfortunately, disease , untreated in due time, can have
unpleasant consequences. So diseases can be classified into
several categories: respiratory diseases, flu, allergies.
Horse rearing is not easy, but rather an activity that
involves a great responsibility.

There are over 300 breeds of horses bread by man ,
which share the 64 chromosomes that occur in the genetic
background of all horses, from the smallest pony up at the huge stallion.
So you must be on the
look out for simptoms that
may represent the beginning of a disease . It is advisable to
consult the veterinary , since
unprescribed remedies may
worsen the situation.

CHANGING WATER
Your biggest chore in caring for fish will be changing their water. No matter how effective and advanced your filter system is, it cannot extract all waste materials that accumulate.
FISH CARE
In comparison with other pets, fish need very little of your time and attention. Some maintenance is important, however, when dealing with aquariums and saltwater or freshwater fish.
When the water becomes cloudy or yellow, you're way past due for a water change. Dirty, soiled, water leads to stress, illness, and growth problems in all saltwater and freshwater fish, so it's important never to put this duty off for too long.
A LITTLE AT A TIME Experts will tell you that the best
approach to take when changing water is to do a little at a time. Rather than draining the whole tank, cleaning, and putting the fish back into their home, you'll change some of the water at shorter intervals. This method allows "good bacteria" to remain in the tank, which helps to naturally break down fish waste. You can practice this technique by:
1. Unplug the electrical equipment attached to the tank. 2. Using a specialty aquarium scraper (free of
detergents, soaps, or other harmful chemical cleansers), begin cleaning the inside of the glass, scraping the algae and other debris downward. Always use slow, deliberate motions, so as not to cause unneeded stress to the fish still in the tank.
3. If you have live plants in the tank, take this time to remove them. You can also move plants, rocks, corral, and decorations around during this time, as well, to give the fish some new surroundings.
4. Stir up the gravel a little to allow waste matter to float freely inside the tank. Be extra cautious during this step, to be certain you don't injure or accidentally bury a fish.
5. Move the gravel to the back corners of the tank, leaving the front and middle of the tank with only a shallow layer of gravel. As you do this, debris will begin to settle toward the front of the tank.
6. Remove one-quarter to one-third of the water in the tank. You can do this with an aquarium approved siphon or by manually scooping it out with a pitcher or large cup. 7. You'll need to get rid of as much debris from the water and gravel as possible. You can do this with a specialized aquarium vacuum or your siphon. 8. You can now refill the aquarium. Be sure to use water that is aged chemically or naturally, and is within 3-degrees of the aquarium's temperature.
9. If you have saltwater fish, add the appropriate amount of aquarium salt now. (Most recommend adding 1 tablespoon for every 5-gallons of water removed from the tank.) 10. Replug all accessories and lighting fixtures.
CLEANING THE LIGHTING UNIT The biggest mistake fish owners make is to leave an aquarium light on 24-hours a day. In truth, unless your tank is filled with live plants, the light never needs to be on. While it's just fine to turn the light on while feeding fish or for observation, aquarium lighting left on for long periods of time will cause an overgrowth of algae.
To clean aquarium light fixtures: 1. Unplug the light. 2. Remove light fixture and casing from the tank. 3. Use an algae scraper to remove as much debris and algae as possible. 4. Rinse. 5. Replace fixture. 6. Plug electrical light back in.
FILTERS The best time to replace or clean filters is while changing water. That way, debris
that has been stirred up and moved into the filter, can be cleansed with the water. Many aquarium filters do not need to be cleansed more than once a month. Never clean filters using household cleansers or hot water. 1. Unplug the filter. 2. Rinse out the sponge contained in the filter box with cool water. 3. If using filter floss, remove half of dirty floss, replacing with new. Always leave
half of the original floss, even when dirty, inside the box. This will keep enough good bacteria growing in the tank to keep fish in optimum conditions.
PLANTS When plastic plants are visibly covered in algae, rinse them in cool water, and replace. This should be done once a month, if necessary.
TIPS AND TRICKS ADDING a few algae eating fish to you tank, like the "otocinclus," "stone lappers," or "Siamese algae eaters," can help keep algae in check.
RAPID algae growth is a signal that something is wrong. The most common causes of algae overgrowth are overfeeding and leaving tank lights on for more than 10-hours per day.
IF FORGETTING to turn tank lights off is a problem, invest in an inexpensive light timer that will automatically turn lights off and on at appropriate intervals.
INVESTING in an aquarium or gravel vacuum makes separating debris from a gravel easier.
NEVER use household chemical cleaners to cleanse aquarium glass or any other tank accessories. If added cleaning solution is required, use aquarium approved supplies or a 50-50 mixture of vinegar and water.
ALWAYS KEEP an eye on tank temperature. Tropical fish do well in temperatures between 75-78-degrees F. Any sudden change in internal aquarium temperature could indicate a problem.
NEVER USE aquarium buckets for anything other than changing water. Buckets contaminated with cleansers, dust and debris can easily cause illness in fish.
