Statistics is closely related to data

Data is an information obtained from the result of observation or research.

The singular form of data is DATUM

Data adalah suatu informasi (keterangan) yang diperoleh dari hasil pengamatan atau penelitian

Bentuk tunggal dari data yaitu DATUM

The Types of Data

• Qualitative data are data related to the category or characteristic of an object, for example : the most favorite subjects (mathematics, biology, english, phisycs, etc), parent highest education (elementary school, JHS, SHS, or college) and so on

• Data qualitatif adalah data yang berhubungan dengan kategori atau karakteristik (sifat) suatu objek. Contohnya data mengenai mata pelajaran yang disukai ( matematika, biologi, b.inggris, fisika,dll) pendidikan tertinggi orangtua ( SD, SMP, SMA, atau perguruan) dsb

• Quantitative data are obtained from the result of numerical recording (in the form of figures). For example : data about height (145cm, 150cm, 152cm, etc), the number of students in the school (800 students, 1000 students, etc)

• Data quantitatif adalah data yang diperoleh dari hasil pengukuran yang bersifat numerik (berupa angka). Contoh : data mengenai tinggi badan (145cm, 150cm, 152cm, dll), banyak siswa disekolah (800 siswa, 1000 siswa, dll)

From the data that have been analyzed we can draw a conclusion.

Dari data yang telah dianalisis barulah dapat ditarik suatu kesimpulan
