Annual Meeting Information

Overview of board structure, nominations, and bylaws revision 2012

Rotary Club ofPerrysburg, Ohio

Background information• Our current board of directors composition was last changed

in 2010. At that time, the “track” to presidency was reduced. Previously a presidential nominee was required to serve as director in all avenues of service prior to becoming President.

• Since 2010 Rotary International has provided some key direction and training for the officers of a club.

• Training at all district assemblies and Rotary Leadership Institute trainings are based on RI’s recommended model.

• The major component of the Leadership Model includes 5 Core Committees as a basis for organizing Rotary Clubs.

5 Core Committees• Based RI research, clubs do best when served by five strong

committees:• MEMBERSHIP- responsible for recruiting, classifying, orientating,

and initiating new members.• PUBLIC RELATIONS- responsible for the public image of the club.

The resource that committee chairs look to when promoting their event.

• CLUB ADMINISTRATION- responsible for weekly meeting speakers, fellowship events, and assisting secretary in other club administrative details.

• FOUNDATION AWARENESS- responsible for keeping the club aware of The Rotary Foundation (the big one out of Evanston) and encouraging donations from Club Members.

• SERVICE PROJECTS- responsible for ensuring the club’s projects are successfully serving the various avenues of service.

Our Club board believes it is prudent to align our Club Board with this Leadership Model.
