General Description of PartsGate Operation

•  The control box is normally fitted within the top stair but can be housed to suit the environment

•  A hydraulic gate operator actuates the Customer supplied gate –  Any obstructive resistance to a gate movement triggers instant reversal

•  The operator mechanism is hydraulically locked in the closed position –  Fitted counter balance valve allows the gate to released by light force in

an emergency

Standard Pit Dimensions

•  Pit Length –  2370 mm for one Wheelchair user only –  2520mm for one Wheelchair user + accompanying person

•  Pit Width 900mm (Minimum) –  To suit installation

•  Pit Depth –  Installation with solid scissor surround

•  Rise of stairs plus 150mm –  Installations with roller shutter scissor surround

•  350 To 600mm

•  Notes: –  Full pit depth only necessary from pit front to front face of top stair –  Minimum pit depth below stair box area is 20mm. –  Pit dimensions will vary with bespoke installations, i.e. rising barriers etc.

Rises Over 1 Metre

•  Once a lift travels over 1M the user must then be enclosed on the lift platform on all four sides. –  There are various options available, some of which are represented in the

3D drawings overleaf •  They are;

Gate Mechanism

•  If no additional void space is available for the rising barrier option a more compact solution is available in the form of an automatic gate

•  The gate mechanism can be located immediately below FFL –  Secured at the top of the gate post

•  For a free standing gate post the mechanism must be located further below ground and the drive shaft will be secured to an adjacent fixing point –  The space requirements are detailed below

Restricted Pit Depth

•  With a restricted pit of 80-220mm depth an alternate design is available –  The lift mechanism secures to an adjacent structural support and is

enclosed in 150mm deep box that can be designed to blend into its surroundings

•  The lift plate is recessed 80mm into the ground •  With over 220mm of pit depth available our conventional lift

design can be used
