•Choose a platform and learn it well. Make sure you go where your stakeholders hang out.

•Engage, not broadcast! (Remember 555+ rule)

• Include community and original content.

•Know what you need to measure – both quantitative and qualitative data.

•Use the right tools at the right time – Excel spreadsheets, TwentyFeet, PostRank, HootSuite, Twitalyzer, etc.
