APPENDIX OF MANUAL

TRAFFIC SIGNALS Red is always on top, then yellow, then green. If hung horizontally, Red is on left

Red Light = Stop!! Yellow Light = Stop if safe to do so before

entering intersection. Green Light = Proceed.

Flashing yellow light = slow down and proceed with care.

Flashing red light = same as STOP sign. Stop Yield to all traffic and proceed when clear.

Unlit = Yield to traffic approaching and proceed with care.

ORANGE - Pedestrians should not leave crosswalk.

WHITE (Steady pedestrian silhouette) – Pedestrians facing this have the right to cross

WHITE Rectangle = Regulation (speed) BLUE Rectangle/square = Service

Information BROWN Rectangle = Recreation GREEN Rectangle = Direction (miles, streets,

etc.) ORANGE Diamond = Construction RED Octagon = STOP SIGN RED Triangle = YIELD YELLOW Pennant = No passing YELLOW Pentagon = School Signs YELLOW Round = Rail Road warning signs YELLOW Diamond = Warning Signs

Orange – diamond shaped signsCan reduce speed limit in these

zones.Traffic fines doubled in these zones.

Use extra caution when in a construction zone!!
