Methodology Principles The exercises are divided in three levels.

Each level has increasing difficulties.

Level “Three” is the most difficult , and level “One” is the easiest.

Each Level has is own color, Level “One” Green, level “Two” Blue and Level “Three” Yellow.

Each level has costs: the maximum value for level “Three” is 100%,”Two” is 80% and “One” 60%.

The student can choose a difficult exercise , and turn to a lower level, but can not return to the highest level.

Implementation Methodology

•Created a start up template for student decision.

•Used Hot Potatoes (JClose) with specific configuration output.

•Created three different HotPotatoes Projects.

•Each HotPotatoes Project has different exercises and different configuration output.

Implementation Methodology (cont.)

•The exercise is created by the teacher.

•The hyperlinks and general test is made by the ICT Coordinator with the exercises made by the teacher.

•The exercise is tested again in a local disk or pen drive.

•If necessary, corrections are made.

•The exercise is submitted to the School Web Site , before the day of application, and tested.

•The test is made in the ICT Lab or using portable computers in a normal classroom with Internet .

ICT-Testing the method in the classroom(cont.)

A small group has started with level three exercise (they achieved 80% score).

The majority has started with level two (they achieved 60%

score).

A small group has started with level one (they achieved 40% score).

At the same time in the same classroom the exercise was made in three different levels (colors) by different students.

ICT – Testing the method in the classroom(cont.)

The students that started with level “One”, have repeated the exercise at level ”Two”, and reach a better result (modified from original “Three colors” proposal methodology).

They had a better understanding of their knowledge and difficulty.

Keep configuration files for each project:

Example :Passecompose_1.cfgPassecompose_2.cfgPassecompose_3.cfg

These files will retain the information for exercise color and transition level.

ICT – Constraints Points

More complex authoring, in order to reach the three significant levels.

More time to test and validate the exercise.

Need help from a ICT Coordinator.

ICT – Conclusions

Students have a better knowledge of what they know and don’t know.

We have found an evolution in students that repeated the exercise in levels “One” and “Two” .

They had a better understanding of their difficulty.

If results are compared to other methodologies, students have a positive evolution on the subjects.

Some logistic and time constraints may apply.
