Title: The Influences of Vivaldi on Bach’s Brandenburg Concerti Topic: Baroque Music
The intent of this essay is well defined and uses the Vivaldi/Hutchings criteria to structure the discussion. Scores were integrated throughout and support the Bach usage. While the Bach works are presented, their counterpart in Vivaldi is omitted. The essay demonstrates an understanding of musical concepts and attempts to relate and draw conclusions as seen on pages 4 and 6. Sometimes there is a lack of detail (page 5) and unconnected observations. The bibliography is comprehensive but discography does not list any Vivaldi works.
