ARRIS X220 PID Tuning Manual

This is the manual for ARRIS X220 fpv racing drones. Generally, for the

RTF, the drone has been fully tuned and tested before leaving the factory.

It is ready to fly.

For the ARRIS X220 ARF, it does not come with remote controller and

receiver. When you receive it, you need to install the receiver on the

drone first. The ARRIS X220 comes with Flycolor Raptor S-Tower

BHeli-S 2-4S 4-in-1 30A ESC + F3 + PDB + OSD. The upper plate is

flight controller board, and the lower plate is the 4in1 ESC Board. Here is

the wiring diagram for the ESC and flight controller board on the X220.

1. ESC wiring Diagram

2. For different receiving mode, the wiring of the Flight controller is not

the same, please check carefully.

2.1 S-Bus Mode

2.2 PPM Mode

2.3 PWM Mode

3. Do some settings in the radio. For this step, we take the Radiolink AT9

as example, here is the video.

4. Settings in BetaFlight Configurator

The stock firmware comes in the F3 flight controller board is

betaflight, so we tuned the setting here.

4.1 Connect the drone with the firmware through USB cable, choose the

port and connect it.

4.2 Reset Z Axis and Calibrate Accelerator, when the drone remains level,

go to next step.

4.3 Setting in“Port”Menu

(Here we take S-Bus receiver as an example. The Raptor 390 S-Tower

comes with OSD, so we need to enable UART2 port. After setting it well,

remember to click “Save and Reboot button”)

4.4 Setting is “Configuration” Menu

( ESC/Motor Protocal: DSHOT 300; MOTOR STOP: Enable;

Receiver Mode: serial-based receiver; Serial RX Provider:SBUS)

4.5 Settings in PID Tuning

(The stock setting of “P” for Roll, pitch and yaw is 60,60 and 70. For “I”

and “D”, just remain the stock settings.)

4.6 Setting in “Receiver” Menu

(Plug the battery, and choose the “JR/Spektrum/Graupner” in drop down

menu)

Check the switches on the remote controller: Roll, Pitch, Yaw, Aux 1 and

AUX 2.

Please toggle the switches on the remote controller, and check whether

the indicate direction on the software is the same as what you operate on

the radio. The Throttle value should be between 1085 and 1100.

4.7 Modes Setting

Please set as the following picture:

Take Radiolink AT9 as example. After we set this step:

1. When the AUX 1 at upper position, the drone is in lock condition

2. When the AUX 1 at middle, the drone is in angle Self-level mode

3. When the AUX 1 at lower position, the drone is in Manual mode

When the switch is at upper position, the beeper is off.

When the switch is at middle or lower position, the beeper is on.

This finished the setting in Beta Flight. .
