SAFETY 2. Dashing in front of approach-ing c a r s .As this issue is being pro-
duced by the pupils of the senior room of Cassiar Elementary School, it is fitting that this column discuss traffic precautions near the school. At the outset may we remind everyone that both drivers and pedestrians have equal re- sponsibilities in preventing ac- cidents
The drivers of motor vehicles can prevent accidents by paying careful attention to the following hazards:
1. Obscured vision due to snow and snow banks.
2. Icy road conditions.3. Speed limits - 15 mph in
school zones.4. Small children playing along
the roadside.5. Bicycle traffic.6. Obscured vision due to the
failure of cleaning windshield and all other car windows.Pedestrians can fulfill their
responsibilities by consideringthe following hazards.
1 . Failing to walk on the correct side of the road which is the left hand side.
