accrued vacation as part of FMLA leave?

What if an employee has a new born child
and wants to take off Friday as FMLA until
all 60 days are used?

In regards to bonuses, can they be prorated
when an employee goes on FMLA and does
PTO accrue when on FMLA?

We have had an employee who was out for
cancer and had gotten harsh chemo
treatments and was unable to come back to
work because of the cancer. The doctor
didn’t give him a lot of time to live, but he
didn’t bring a note from the doctor. Does
this change his FMLA?

Does vacation accrual stop during the 12
weeks of FMLA?

If we designate FMLA and Workers comp to
run concurrently and the WC exceeds 12
weeks, can/should we initiate COBRA?

If we allow an employee to take FMLA leave
prior to meeting the 12 months and/or 1240
hour requirement, have we created a new
eligibility period and have to allow other
similarly situated employees FMLA
protection at the same time?
