I briefly met Ms Babita Das on her return from a recent trip to Italy where she took part in an interesting, and special, artistic manifestation: a contest of ice sculptures which was inaugurated at Livigno (Lombardy) on 2 December 2010.

This experience, truly unusual for an inhabitant of Calcutta, where ice and snow are not really common, has left her with a deep, and I believe, positive impression. It has also, evidently, instilled in her the energy and the wish to know more about Italy, its culture and its people.

She therefore asked this Consulate General for a brief greeting message on the occasion of her exhibition in Calcutta.

I take this opportunity to extend to Ms Das the best wishes for this exhibition and I wish her every success in the future.
