Badajoz

• Badajoz is a town of 150,000 inhabitants in the South West of Spain

Badajoz

• Badajoz borders with Portugal.

Badajoz

• Badajoz is in the Region of Extremadura. Extremadura is not an industrialised area but it is quite famous for its mediterranean forest, natural landscapes and national parks

Extremadura

• Low Extremadura is near Madrid, and High Extremadura is near Seville.

Badajoz

• The economy of Badajoz is based on the commerce. You will find traditional shopping centres but also open shopping centres as the weather except in December, January and February is mild

Badajoz

• Badajoz is not a famous Spanish destination for tourist but it’s a quite nice place, or arab origin, to enjoy life the Spanish way

Badajoz

• Badajoz is crossed by Guadiana River, where we will try to do some rowing when you visit us

Badajoz

• Badajoz is the home of the so-called ‘most delicious Spanish food’: Jamón Iberico (impossible to translate, but I would say “... Some kind of smoked ham”

Badajoz

• Badajoz is within easy reach of Merida and Cáceres, both of which are cultural centres

Merida

• Merida is only 60 km from Badajoz and is possibly one of the best places to see Roman Ruins. A good place to teach about the Romans

Caceres

• Caceres is a beautiful, lively university town with a lovely Old Part

Badajoz

• Badajoz is only 8 km from Elvas, a lovely Portuguese village. This is another mandatory visit.

OUR SCHOOL: OSCUS

• Our school, OSCUS, is a small school where you can find students from 3 to 25 years old: nursery, primary, secondary and vocational school

OSCUS

• Our style is based on friendship and “keep moving”. We are always doing new things and projects

OSCUS PRIMARY SCHOOL

• We decided to prioritize the use of CHESS as a starting point of the Multiple Intelligences approach.

OSCUS VOCATIONAL

• Our students complete the theoric training with placements in Badajoz, Lisbon and Porto. The EU granted our school with a Leonardo Da Vinci Project.

OSCUS

• We have an ongoing project about balanced diet and fitnnes in which we are completing a biometric control of the growth of our students
