1. PURPOSE AND SCOPE
Bajaj Allianz iSecure Insurance Plan provides complete protection to the policyholders and their families
at a nominal cost.
2. PRODUCT TYPE
Bajaj Allianz iSecure Insurance Plan is a Non-Participating, Regular Premium, Individual Non Linked
Level Term Assurance Plan.
The key features of this plan are:
Single and joint life availability (spouse only). More value for money with high Sum Assured rebate. Flexibility to
o Select policy term from 10 years to 30 years.o Alter premium payment frequencyo
Include spouse at a later date in the existing policy, if the first Life Assured is not married at theinception of the policy.
o Choose additional rider benefit(s) for enhanced protectiono Opt for disbursement of policy proceeds in annual installments
3. PLAN DESCRIPTION
There will be one combined set of premium rates applicable for sum assured less than Rs. 20 lacs
For sum assureds of Rs. 20 lacs & above, separate sets of premium rates will be applicable depending
upon the lifestyle category (Preferred Non-Smoker, Non-Smoker and Smoker). The category applicable
for the proposer will be decided by the company based on the medical tests results. The premium amount
collected at the time of proposal will be the one corresponding to the smoker or non-smoker category.After the category is decided upon, any excess will be refunded to the policyholder.
4. POLICY CONTRACT
Policy Contract The basis of the contract will be the Proposal Form filled by the Proposer. The policy
document will be the evidence of the contract.
5. JOINT LIFE AVAILABILITY
The policyholder has the option to take an individual or a joint life cover. The details of the joint life
variant are as given below:
i) Joint life cover can be taken only at the inception of the policy, if the first life assured is married atthat time.
ii) If the first life assured is not married at the inception of the policy, he/she can include the spouse at alater date, after marriage.
The details of the conversion are as given below
a. The second life can be added at any policy anniversary, provided all the necessary procedureswith respect to the inclusion are completed prior to the policy anniversary.

b. The term of the cover for the second life should be equal to the left-over term under the policy,provided such a policy term is available under the product.
c. The second life can take a sum assured less than or equal to the first lifes sum assured.d. The second life should be insurable as per the specifications of the product and as per the
current underwriting rules of company.
iii) If the lives annul their marriage or apply for annulment during the policy term, the company needs tobe informed of the same (giving sufficient proof) by the first life; and the second life shall be excluded
from the policy.
1. On exclusion, the policy can be continued as an individual life policy with a reduced premium.The reduced premium will based on the age-at-entry, policy term, category (if applicable) and the
sum assured in respect of the first life as at the inception/latest revival or alteration of the policy.
2. Once excluded, the life cannot be included again.3. If the company is not informed of the same, then on death of any one of lives assured, the sum
total of premium/s paid from the date of divorce will be refunded to the surviving life assured.
The policy shall continue on the first life assured.

7. PREMIUM REBATES
High Sum Assured Rebate as per Annexure I will be offered for all sum assureds from 5,00,000 to19,99,999.
High Sum Assured Rebate as per Annexure II will be offered for all sum assureds of 20 lacs & above.The premium rate for joint life will be arrived at by allowing a rebate on the total of the gross premium #
applicable to the individual lives. The joint life rebate (JLR) for joint life is as below:

# Total Gross premium is the total of the calculated premiums for each individual after allowing for any HSAR for

Web Sales Rebate as per Annexure III will be available for policies taken through the web.
8. STAFF REBATE
A rebate of 10% will be offered under the plan. (Staff being employees of Bajaj Allianz Life, Bajaj
Allianz General, Allianz Group & Bajaj Group)
Staff rebate will not be available for policies taken through web.
9. OPTION TO CHANGE PREMIUM PAYMENT FREQUENCY
The premium payment frequency may be changed at any policy anniversary during the term of the
policy, subject to minimum premium limits.
10. DEATH BENEFIT
a) In case of Individual Life In case of unfortunate death of life assured during the policy term and provided all the due
premiums have been paid, the company will pay the Sum Assured to the nominee.
The policy will terminate immediately on death of the life assured.b) In case of Joint Life

In case of unfortunate death of each life assured during the policy term and provided all thedue premiums have been paid, the company will pay the Sum Assured in respect of the
deceased life assured to the surviving life assured or to the nominee on 2nd death.
On death of any one of the life assureds, the policy will automatically continue on the survivinglife assured with a reduced premium. The reduced premium will based on the age-at-entry,
policy term, premium payment frequency lifestyle category (if applicable) and the sum assured
in respect of the surviving life as at the inception/latest revival or alteration of the policy..
The policy will terminate immediately on death of the second life assured.
11. MATURITY BENEFIT
No maturity benefit shall be payable on survival till the end of the policy term.
12. SURRENDER BENEFIT
No surrender benefit is payable under the plan.
13. ADDITIONAL RIDER BENEFITS
The Policyholder has the option to choose the following riders:
(i) Comprehensive Accidental Protection* (UIN : 116C001V01)(ii) Critical Illness Benefit (UIN : 116C007V01)(iii)Hospital Cash Benefit (UIN : 116C008V01)
In case of a joint life, CAP can be opted by the First Life assured only. This restriction is not applicable in
case of selection of Hospital Cash Benefit and Critical Illness riders.
The Comprehensive Accidental Protection (CAP) rider includes the accidental death benefit, accidental
permanent total/partial disability benefit and waiver of premium benefit.
At any policy anniversary, the policyholder can exclude any rider benefit.
Hospital Cash Benefit (HCB) and Critical Illness (CI) benefit can be included only at inception of the
policy. The level of coverage under the HCB &/or the CI benefit can be reduced subsequently, at any
policy anniversary. Once the level of coverage is reduced, it cannot be increased subsequently. If these
rider benefits are excluded once, they cannot be included again.
The rider sum assured / benefit will be a level amount and will be as chosen at the inception of the rider
a) COMPREHENSIVE ACCIDENTAL PROTECTION
The Life Assured for this rider has to be the First Life Assured under the base planThe Comprehensive Accident Protection would comprise of the following:
a) Accidental Death Benefitb) Accidental Permanent Total/Partial Disability Benefit

c) Waiver of Premium Benefit in case of Accidental Permanent Total Disability.i) Accidental Death Benefit
The accidental death coverage can only be chosen if the issue age of the Policyholder is not less than 18and not more than 50 years. The coverage is provided until the age being 65. The additional amountpayable in the event of accidental death will be the lower of:
The basic Sum Assured, or
Rs 50,00,000 under all the Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance policies of the Policyholder taken together. The accidental death benefit shall be payable if the policy is in force for the full Sum Assured.
Death must occur within 180 days of the accident as a direct result of the accident.
ii) Accidental Permanent Total/ Partial Disability Benefit
i. Minimum Sum Assured: Rs.50,000ii. Maximum Sum Assured: Rs.5,000,000 (for all policies taken together)
iii. Minimum Entry Age: 18 Years last birthdayiv.
Maximum Entry Age: 50 Years last birthday
v. Maximum Maturity Age: 65 Years last birthdayThe amount payable in the event of accidental permanent partial disability will be the lower one of:
50 % of the Sum Assured Rs 25,00,000 under all the BJAZ policies of the Policyholder taken together.
If the Policyholder did not receive a benefit for accidental permanent partial disability before, the amount
payable in the event of accidental permanent total disability will be the lower one of:
the Sum Assured Rs 50,00,000 under all the Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance policies of the Policyholder taken together
If the Policyholder did receive a benefit for accidental permanent partial disability before and the time
passed from the occurrence of the partial disability is less than one year, the amount payable in the event
of accidental permanent total disability will be the lower one of:
50 % of the Sum Assured Rs 25,00,000 under all the Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance polices of the Policyholder taken together
If the Policyholder did receive a benefit for accidental permanent partial disability before and the time
passed from the occurrence of the partial disability is at least one year, the amount payable in the event of
accidental permanent total disability will be the lower one of:
the Sum Assured Rs 50,00,000 under all the Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance polices of the Policyholder taken together
The Policyholder can receive an accidental permanent total disability benefit only once under all the
policies of the Policyholder. The Accidental Permanent Total/Partial Disability benefit shall be payable if
the policy is in force for the full Sum Assured.

The Policyholder has the option to receive the Accidental Permanent Total benefit either as a lump sum
or as a guaranteed annuity for a period 10 years. In case the Policyholder opts for the guaranteed annuity,
the amount payable per year is 11% of the claim amount.
iii) Waiver of Premium Benefit in case of Accidental Permanent Total Disability
The waiver of premium benefit can only be chosen if the issue age of the Policyholder is not less than 18
and not more than 50 years. If selected, coverage is provided until the age being 65. In the event of
accidental permanent total disability (as described above) the premium (for individual or joint life policy)
for all benefits are waived, and Hospital Cash Benefit, if included, ceases the full insurance coverage for
all benefits remains.
The Waiver Of Premium benefit shall be available if the policy is in force for the full Sum Assured and
the claim for accidental permanent total disability is admitted by the company.
b)CRITICAL ILLNESS RIDERa. Minimum Sum Assured: Rs.50,000b. Maximum Sum Assured: Should be equal to Basic Sum Assuredc. Minimum Entry Age: 18 Years last birthdayd. Maximum Entry Age: 50 Years last birthdaye. Maximum Maturity Age: 65 Years last birthday
In case the Policyholder is diagnosed to have a Critical Illness and the policy is in force for the full Sum
Assured, the company pays Critical Illness benefit equal to the Sum Assured. The policy will continue
with all other benefits excluding Critical Illness benefit and Hospital Cash benefit and the premiums will
be payable accordingly. However,where the Life Assured dies within 60 days from such diagnosis for
which Critical Illness benefit has become payable, the death benefit will be payable after deduction of the
Critical Illness benefit.
There is a waiting period of 6 months, i.e. the Critical Illness benefit can only be claimed if the illness is
diagnosed at least 6 months after the date of commencement of risk or reinstatement of risk. No benefit is
payable until the insured person has provided satisfactory proof to the company of the occurrence of the
relevant Critical Illness. This includes a diagnosis confirmed by a registered Medical Practitioner
appointed by the company and must be supported by acceptable clinical, radiological, histological and
laboratory evidence.
c)HOSPITAL CASH BENEFITThe daily Hospital Cash amount shall be at Rs. 4 per Rs. 1000 Sum Assured subject to a minimum Sum
Assured of Rs. 50000 and maximum Sum Assured of Rs. 2,50,000 or the basic Sum Assured, whichever is
lower. The Hospital Cash Benefit will only be offered if the issue age of the Life Assured is not less than
18 (eighteen) and not more than 50 (fifty) years. Coverage shall be provided until the age being the
maturity age or 65(sixty five) whichever is earlier.
If the insured person has to stay for more than 72 (seventy two) hours in hospital as a result of injury,
sickness or disease, the company reimburses for each full day an amount which is the lower one of:

(a) 75 % (seventy five percent) of the room charge in hospital;(b) the daily Hospital Cash amount.
For every period of hospitalisation during a policy year, the first three days would not be paid for. The
total number of days for which Hospital Cash would be payable in a policy year would be restricted to 60
(sixty) days in a policy year, irrespective of the number of days of hospitalisation. The benefit period
starts after a waiting period of 60 (sixty) days from the commencement of risk or reinstatement of risk.
14. OPTION TO TAKE DEATH BENEFIT IN ANNUAL INSTALLMENTS
The policyholder/nominee will have the option to take the death benefit in annual installments over a
settlement period of ten (10) years from the date of intimation of death. The same needs to be informed in
writing at the time of filing the death claim form.
Each annual installment will be an amount equivalent to (100% + x%) of Sum Assured divided by ten(10)
years. The x% will be decided by the company on a year-on-year basis and will remain the same during
the settlement period of 10 years.
The x% will be benchmarked against the 10-year G-Sec yield as at the start of the financial year ofadmitting the death claim. For the current financial year (2011-12), the x% is 30.60%
15. LOAN
No policy loan is available under this plan.
16. GRACE PERIOD
A grace period of not more than 30 days for all modes other than monthly mode and not more than 15days for monthly mode will be allowed
17. NON FORFEITURE
If premiums are not paid by the end of the grace period, the policy will lapse and no benefits under the
policy is payable. The policyholder can revive the policy within a revival period of two (2) years from the
first unpaid premium, subject to the revival conditions.
18. REINSTATEMENT/ REVIVAL
A Policy, which has lapsed (for non-payment of premium) after the grace period may be revived, subject
to the following conditions:
a) The application for revival is made within 2 years from the due date of the first unpaid premium andbefore the end of the policy term
b) Payment of all due premiums along with applicable interest compounded half-yearly at such rate asthe company may decide from time to time.
c) Satisfactory evidence of good health, at the Policyholders expense, is submitted;d)The revival of the Policy may be on terms different from those/that applicable to the Policy before it
lapsed, based on prevailing underwriting norms of the Company.
e) The Company may at its sole and absolute discretion refuse to revive the Policy.

19. TERMINATION OF THE POLICY
This Policy shall automatically terminate on the earlier occurrence of either of the following events:
a) On the Full Surrender of the policy.b) On death of the Life Assured in case of individual Life and on the second death in case of joint life.c) On expiry of the revival period.d) On the Maturity Date.
20. BACKDATING
Date of commencement of policy may be backdated up to the beginning of a financial year subject to thepayment of back premiums plus 10% interest. In the case of backdating upto 1 month, the same would beallowed free of interest.
21. FREE LOOK PERIOD
Within 15 days from the date of receipt of the policy, the Policyholder have the option to review the terms
and condition and return the policy, if he/she disagrees to any of the terms & conditions, stating thereasons for his/ her objections. He will be entitled to a refund of the premium paid, subject only to a
deduction of a proportionate risk premium for the period on cover and the expenses incurred on medical
examination and stamp duty charges.
22. ASSIGNMENT AND NOMINATION
a) No assignment shall be effective unless and until the Company receives a written notice from thePolicyholder.
b) If the Policyholder and the Life Assured are the same person, the Policyholder may at any timespecify in writing a Nominee to receive the Death Benefit. If the Nominee is a minor, thePolicyholder shall also appoint an Appointee to receive the benefit during the minority of the
Nominee. No nomination shall be effective unless and until evidenced by an endorsement on the
Policy.
c) Any assignment shall automatically cancel any nomination.d) The Company assumes no responsibility or liability for the validity of any assignment or nomination
or in recording the assignment or registering the nomination or change in assignment or nomination.
e) Assignment will not be permitted where the Policy is under the Married Womens Property Act 1874.
23. SUICIDE CLAIM PROVISION
If the Life Assured and/or the Second Life Assured commit/s suicide, whether sane or insane, within one
year from the Date of Commencement of Risk or the latest date of revival of the policy, the contract of
insurance shall be void, whether or not any beneficial interest has been created therein, and all the
Premiums paid under the Policy shall be refunded subject to recovery of any dues under the Policy. The
validity of the contract of insurance will be determined in accordance with the date of death, and not the
date of intimation of death.
