Local Health Aziende serve roughly a province’s territory, have responsibility on disease prevention, treatment and rehabilitation.

They have the task of commissioning and providing services (Primary Care - children, adults and old people - ; Hospital Care -small and medium size hospitals; Ambulatory Care; Residential Care; Mental Health; Prevention Services).

Hospital Aziende are pure providers, at a high specialisation level.
