a. What is the displacement over each section of the graph?
b. What is the velocity over each section of the graph?
c. What is the displacement over the entire trip?
d. What is the average velocity over the entire trip?
Problem # 3: Velocity versus time graph
4
a. What is the average velocity within each section of the graph?
b. What is the acceleration within each section of the graph?
c. When does the object come to rest?
d. When does the object reverse its direction of its motion?
e. What is the displacement within each section of the graph?
5
f. What is the displacement in entire trip?

1. You are standing 100 m north of your car when an alligator appears 20 m north of you and begins to run toward you at 8 m/s. At the same moment you start to run at 5 m/s. Will you reach the car before the alligator catches you?
Problem # 4: Use the Pythagorean theorem to find the displacement of a car that goes north for 5 km and then east for 3 km.

A: Algorithmic Kinematics
Developing algorithm for advanced understanding:
Students are encouraged to visit my website to understand the codes I wrote.
Algorithm: So an algorithm is set of commands which a computer executes in order to fulfill a goal.
In this case, our goal is to use utilize the data which we collected from our samples to tell the computer to plot a graph for us.
Mini lesson (Part 2)
You guys will work as a group to complete the following activities:
Directions: You guys will use a moving toy car to collect data about how far the car travels in what amount of time, using a ruler and a stopwatch. In the end, you guys will plot the d-t & v-t graphs.
Trial # Distance Time Velocity1
2
Average
Use the data above to plot the Distance time graph for your awesome car!
