DESCRIPTION

Base-load analysis is a useful exercise to determine where in the building to focus time and money and it is the starting point for all our work. Once we can see the time-distribution of the energy within the building we can prescribe a course of low cost remedial actions to bring “out of hours” energy consumption under control. When a building is fitted with sub-metering it is then possible to pinpoint where the majority of “out of hours” consumption is occurring. During this presentation we introduce the topic of analysing baseloads and we show you how the Workplace Footprint Tracker can be used for performing the analysis.

What is baseload?

The minimum amount of electricity a building requires

to be fully operational

What is baseload?

Same building, another yearBaseload reduced by 200 kWh200 * £1000 = £200,000 annual savings

Base-load Analysis: Client Example Challenge

Reduce energy consumptionby 15% with simple, low-cost alterations to the building

Expected Result

Savings of £11,250 from annual electrical bill

Base-load Analysis: Client ExampleStep 1 - Identifying Base-load Consumption

1) Reporting 2) Data Analysis

1 kWh base-load = £1,000 per year

Base-load Analysis: Client ExampleSummary

• Important activity in any energy management strategy

• Unlock energy savings hidden within your building fabric

• Close gap between value creation and out-of-office consumption

• Focus activities for greatest energy saving yields
