With continuation of late plantings of Mungbeans the last two seasons, powdery mildew hasbecome a major cost in the cropping budget. With Carbendazim and Tebuconazole being the only“Curative” option and Wettable Sulphur the only “Preventative” option, it is only a matter of timesbefore efcacy is a seriously yield affecting problem. It is estimated that the average fungicideapplications amounted to 1.3 last season.

With the release of Jade-AU® to Australian growers, comes a new level of Powdery Mildewresistance that will be of the greatest benet when dealing with late planting opportunities.Fungicide applications will certainly still have to be maintained with a number of new options willbe released in time for this season's plantings. Having this increased resistance will certainly helpin putting more money in the pockets of Mungbean growers.
