• ParentVue Activation Codes will be available in the front office tonight as well as during normal business hours.
• Each parent has their own ParentVue Activation Code.
• You must have a photo ID to receive your activation code

SCHOOL-WIDE
PROCEDURES:These make Berry Elementary a safer
and positive place for all to learn.
***NEW VOLUNTEER PROCESS
(INCLUDING CHAPERONING FIELD
TRIPS, PTO EVENTS, FIELD DAY
ASSISTANTS, BEING ONE OF OUR
WATCH D.O.G.S. ETC….***
• Per the new procedures written in depth on pages 16 & 24 in the CCPS 2018-2019 Parent Handbook/Calendar====Anyone who wants to be involved with events involving students must complete the new procedure which can be found here:
• This is NOT optional---you will not be allowed to engage in any volunteer opportunity without this process being completed.
ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
• Students should not be dropped off without adult supervision before 9:15 am.
• Parents of students who are dropped off prior to school doors opening at 9:15 a.m. will be notified, if a problem occurs. Parents who are repeat offenders will cause his/her child to have a consequence. It is important to remember that there will be no supervision prior to 9:15 a.m.
• If your child is dropped off after 9:30 a.m., you must sign your child in at the office [front doors will be shut promptly at 9:30 am].
• Please go online to the Charles County’s website and complete a bus change request form if your child needs a permanent bus change. Information can be found at www.ccboe.com
• If there is a needed change to your child’s regular dismissal routine. You will need to put the change in writing. Please don’t just verbalize this request to the child or the bus driver as this compromises the student’s safety. Also, please do not send an email to just your child’s teacher making a request because there is no guarantee that the email will be received. Email transportation changes to Ms. Kober ckober@ccboe.com, your child’s GLA and the teacher as soon as possible and before 3:30 pm at the latest.
ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL PROCEDURES FOR
CAR RIDER PROCEDURES
• A “car rider” is a student who is picked up 5 days a week. You must fill out
car rider form to receive the ORANGE car rider tag
• Each family receives two car rider tags after completing the Car Rider Information form from Ms. Proctor.
ARRIVAL PROCEDURES
All car riders should enter the school from Route 228/Berry Road please travel at a very safe speed on campus as children are present. [See route on next slide.]
Buses will be dismissing in the bus parking lot as car riders are coming through the back of the bus lot---again travel slowly and carefully. Daycare vans will dismiss and pick up in the same area—driving in from McDaniel Road. Buses will be coming into the bus lot via McDaniel and Rte. 228/Berry Road.
Please do not park in the middle of the road. When cars park illegally you are making it difficult for buses to enter the lot and unsafe for walkers to view traffic.
ARRIVAL--CAR RIDER PATHWAY---ENTER FROM RTE. 228 AND FOLLOW
THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD!
DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
• NO STUDENTS will be called down for early dismissal after 3:30 pm! Your child will be dismissed as they normally would and you will have to make necessary adjustments. Individual dismissals between 3:30 pm and 4:00 pm interrupt our normal dismissal procedure and this effects nearly 1,000 students. Please plan ahead.
• Dismissal starts at 3:50 pm and car riders are called out first along with AlphaBest , daycare van riders, & Hug & Haul students.
• All car riders/daycare vans/and some buses will be coming in from McDaniel Road. PLEASE BE PATIENT and mindful of students, parents and staff.
• Car riders should follow the BLUE ROUTE on the next slide. In and out from McDaniel Road.
• Hug & Haul parents you need to park and carefully walk back to your cars, please stop cutting in between the car rider line. You are supposed to be parking in the Mattawoman parking lot (PINK ARROW on next slide). Exiting via McDaniel Road.
DISMISSAL--CAR RIDER PATHWAY---
ENTER FROM MCDANIEL RD AND
COMPLETE THE BLUE CIRCLE!
