FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 9” across the bias, 72” long

MATERIALS Manos del Uruguay MAXIMA (100% extrafine merino; approx. 218 yds/100g), 2 sk. Shown in M2145 Coral.

US #10/6mm needles, or size to obtain gauge Cable needle

GAUGE 14 sts = 4” over Garter Stitch

ABBREVIATIONS k: knit k2tog: knit 2 sts together kfb: knit into the front and back of same stitch p: purl st(s): stitch(es) WS: wrong side

INSTRUCTIONS Cast on 42 sts. Rows 1, 3, 5, 9, and 11: Slip 1 st purlwise with yarn in back; (p1, k1) 5 times, k1; kfb, k15, k2tog; (k1, p1) 6 times. Row 2 and all WS rows: Slip 1 st purlwise with yarn in back; (p1, k1) 5 times; k19; (k1, p1) 6 times. Row 7: Slip 6 sts to cable needle and hold at back of work; (k1, p1) 3 times; (k1, p1) 3 times from cable needle; kfb, k15, k2tog; slip 6 sts to cable needle and hold at back of work; (k1, p1) 3 times; (k1, p1) 3 times from cable needle.

Repeat rows 1-12 until scarf measures 72” or desired length.

Bind off in pattern. Weave in ends.
