Biography

John Knox is a Partner at LGT Capital Partners (Asia-Pacific) Limited and is a member of their

Hedge Fund Research and Asset Allocation Committees.

Previously, Mr Knox was one of the founding partners of KGR Capital Management, a Hong

Kong based specialist Asian fund of funds group, which was acquired by LGT Capital Partners

in 2008.

Prior to this, Mr Knox spent most of his career in derivatives, having been the head of

derivatives desks at Hoare Govett and James Capel in London, before moving to Hong Kong

in 1992, where he set up the Asian Derivatives Group for Jardine Fleming. Mr Knox became

a Group Executive Director in 1997. Mr Knox was responsible for all trading, structuring,

marketing and risk management of Asian derivatives globally within the Flemings group, with

desks in Hong Kong, Tokyo, London and New York. After the acquisition of Jardine Fleming

by JP Morgan in 2000, Mr Knox was responsible for their securitized derivatives initiative in

Hong Kong before leaving in 2002 to set up KGR Capital.

Mr Knox graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance from

Loughborough University in England.
