Case 3BIOLOGICAL CROWN
A 12 year old male patient
reported to Dept. of Pedodontics and Preventive
Dentistry of GNIDSR , with
chief complaint of lost lower left
anterior tooth and mobile lower right
anterior teeth, following a
trauma , 7 days ago.

Intraoral examination :
• Avulsion of 31 • 2 degree mobility • Extrusion of 41.• Mucosa of lower
and upper lip lacerated.
• Poor Oral hygiene
Treatment plan:• Oral prophylaxis • Followed by splinting of lower
anterior teeth from 33 to 43 ,• Followed by biological crown of 31
Per- operative view
Oral prophylaxis done
Splinting via wire and light cure composite done from 33 to 43
Per- operative view
• After 15 days splint removed, 41 remain asymptomatic
Per-operative view
Avulsed 31 prepared for
biological crown.
Root portion removed by air rotor

Remaining pulp removed by a file
Pulp chamber filled by flowable LIC
Post-operative view The biologic, prepared tooth is
fixed with fiber optic ribbon with 32 and 41 replacing 31.
