• Hickory Nut Falls was used in the battle scenes of the movie The Last of the Mohicans.

• The Broad River basin contains the Bat Cave. It is 300 feet long and 85 feet high with more than a mile of passageways. It was made by the shifting of rocks.

• Trout fishing is very popular in the rivers and lakes of the basin.
