Purpose of Title I:
• To ensure that all children have a fair, equal and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach proficiency on the Common Core State Standards and assessment.
• To provide funding to meet the educational needs of low-achieving students enrolled in the highest poverty schools.

Title I Reservations or Set Asides
Required:• 20% for Supplemental Educational Services (SES) and Choice• 1% for Parent Involvement• 10% for Professional Development• 5% for Highly Qualified Teachers• .007% for Homeless• .005% for Private Schools
Optional but recommended:• 04% Preschool Support

• Services to assist low-achieving pupils in meeting Common Core State Standards
• Services to support early literacy through the Better Beginnings Preschool program
• Services to assist in diagnosis, teaching and learning in the classroom in ways that best enable low-achieving children in meeting Common Core State Standards through intervention

• Services to provide high-quality professional development for teachers, principals and para-educators to enable low-achieving students to meet Common Core State Standards
• Services to parents to share in accountability in meeting the Common Core State Standards
