New president of the Bühler BusinessUnit Chocolate, Cocoa & CoffeeSerge Entleitner joined the Bühler group in August totake charge of the Business Unit Chocolate, Cocoa & Cof-fee. Edi Boller, who has run the Business Unit Chocolate,Cocoa & Coffee for the last 10 years, now becomes thenew president of Bühler South America.

Entleitner’s career before joining Bühler included man-agement functions at Conzetta AG, and sales and market-ing work at Saurer Sticksysteme AG, Sefar AG andSchmid-Rhyner AG.

Bosch expands in ChinaBosch Packaging Technology is expanding its operations inChina and enlarging its site in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province.In 2010, the company had doubled its production capacity.Now, the office building will be enlarged by a third floor. Theadditional 1,400 square meters will provide space for about120 new associates.

Approximately €10 million / CNY 87 million(US$13.5 million) has been invested in this site.

The final size of the site has not yet been reached, though.In 2012, an additional 5,000 square meters will be added tothe shop floor. Further expansions are planned. From itsHangzhou base, the company delivers mainly to the Chinesemarket. Annual growth rates of the industries supplied byBosch, which include the pharmaceutical, food and confec-tionery industries, are about 15 percent in China.

Netzsch-Feinmahltechnik GmbHAt Interpack 2011 Netzsch exhibited its Chocoeasy,which enables chocolate makers of any size to manufactureall varieties of chocolatecost-effectively fromscratch. Confectionerscan create their ownchocolate recipes anddevelop their own propri-etary chocolate brands.

Using standard rawmaterials, Chocoeasymelts and mixes ingredi-ents, combines dry and wet conching, and uses a purpose-built agitator bead mill for fine grinding. Quantities from25 kg to 6 tons of chocolate can be formulated and manu-factured in one batch.

The compact, closed-system design prevents contamina-tion, reduces energy and water costs, and preserves repro-ducibility and process control standards. Chocoeasy Chocotech GmbHThe Ecograv system for theproduction of hard candy,chewy candy, aerated candyand fondants can achievesavings of up to 50 percent inenergy costs. It consists of agravimetric weighing unitfor sugar and corn syrupwith an integrated dissolver,which uses the water contentof the corn syrup to enable astable, clear solution at up to90 percent dry solids to be metered to the cooker withoutadding water to the premix. This results in an increase indry solids from the conventional 75 percent.
