Bride: Heidi Wedding: December Venue: Chateau Lake Louise

Theme: Silver, Red, Black, Candlelight and Snowflakes

H. DREWETT-CORMIER WEDDING

2

Heidi put together a collage of ideas to convey the vision of her wedding before any sketches were made up or

fabric sourced.

IDEAS

3

CONSULTATION

Several meetings took place between Heidi and I to talk about the type of wedding, the venue, the fabrics, and the budget before any wedding gown ideas were put to paper…

The couture process…

4

Initial sketches

were then developed

and presented

to Heidi for discussion -

2010

5

Further working sketches were developed in

consultation with Heidi to get final approval for next step to make up

the “toile”.

6

The toile was created and fitted perfectly to Heidi’s personal style

and figure

APPROVAL – SIGN OFF

Heidi’s full set of measurements were taken- which typically numbers about 60, before the gown could even begin to take shape…after which the fabrics were sourced and ordered.

Several toile fittings, for the purpose of finalising silhouette and styling the details, took place before cutting into the silk fabric. Heidi was so excited and pleased with this process she offered to model her toile that others could understand the couture process as well…

7

Heidi also offered to help EHC’s fundraising initiative in other ways..

FASHION EVENT FUNDRAISER “ONE”

During this time period the planning and preparations for the EHC fashion event fundraiser for Making Changes Association Calgary were being made:

As goes with fundraisers, we rely heavily upon donations of time and expertise to accomplish the goal of raising money for worthwhile organizations…

8

HEIDI’S GOWN AS TOILE FEATURED AT “ONE”

Heidi agreed to involve EHC student’s in the development of her wedding gown providing them real life working

experience - November 2010

9

“ONE” FASHION EVENT FUNDRAISER POSTER

By offering to donate her professional expertise in graphic design Heidi created the posters

and tickets

10

…Heidi having a bit of fun with the students during the final fittings reduced pre-wedding jitters…

11

…the wedding gown was completed in time for ELEGANZA

COUNTDOWN TO THE WEDDING

By the time the wedding gown was completed a full year had elapsed and EHC’s next Fashion Event Fundraiser 2011 was about to launch …

This year the planning for the fashion event had begun much earlier so that a full sponsorship package could be developed and distributed to potential partners and donors for the fundraiser…

12

Heidi graciously donated her expertise again to

create promotional materials for Eleganza 2011

ELEGANZA FASHION EVENT FUNDRAISER 2011

Note that we used the original sketch for Heidi’s

gown to feature on the promotional material…

A big thank you to Heidi for offering and allowing us to feature the couture process using her wedding gown…

Also thanks to Preserving Memories, for the following photographs used in this portfolio presentation .

For the actual wedding – Heidi carried a bouquet of red roses with her own personal touch of Swarovski crystals in the centers

26

Every reason to celebrate as all the plans and preparations went off without a hitch…

27

Congratulations and Best Wishes to the happy couple….
