• In the UK, it is more common to shake somebody’s hand, or perhaps greet them with a hug. We don’t kiss people we don’t know.

• Generally, in the UK we do not use many different types of gestures. We do not gesticulate* as much as other European countries.
• Gesticulate= use gestures, especially dramatic ones, instead of speaking or to emphasize one's words.
