Resource Teacher Role

To support and inspire participating teachers in the development of exemplary classroom practice as they transition from a preliminary credential to a professional clear.

Resource Teacher Responsibilities

Plan, teach, facilitate, Orientations, Learning Academies (PT), Coaching Clinics (SP), Portfolio Checks, PD, Course Work, Exit Presentations/ Colloquium

READ/CHECK/GRADE, E-Portfolio (including additional PD hours)

Give “green light” for PT to apply for clear credential

Support Provider Role

To serve as a professional role model in content & pedagogy and to provide intensive individualized support and coaching for participating teachers, based on their needs.

Support Provider Responsibilities

Provide classroom/FACT guidanceConduct and record 3 formal

observations READ ALL PT portfolio work Record comments after EACH entry in PT portfolioParticipate in Triads (Fall and Spring)Prepare PT for Portfolio ChecksEncourage/suggest PD (45 hours)

Participating Teacher Role

To build your confidence and competence as a professional educator through reflective practice and the use of provided resources.

Participating TeacherResponsibilities

Collaborate/coordinate with SPAttend ALL Learning Academies,

Portfolio Checks, and Classes (Ed Sp)

Complete all FACT/course work at a graduate level capacityEnter 45 PD hours in E-portfolioCommunicate with RT

Portfolio ChecksPurpose

Keep PT on track with deadlines

Check for quality of work Build rapport with colleagues

and RT Problem solve as needed

Three times per year SP’s do not attend

Portfolio ChecksDates/Times

You will sign up on the Moodle site for a ONE hour block of time (4:00-5:00 OR 5:00-6:00) on ONE of the following dates:

Portfolio Check #1-December 6 OR 7 Portfolio Check #2-February 21 OR 22 Portfolio Check #3-May 1 OR 2

All meetings will be here at Mission Beach Center

Portfolio ChecksExpectations

1. Completed FACT work is entered in E-portfolio.

2. Completed FACT work will be shared with RT.

3. Completed FACT work will be shared with other PT’s.

4. Discussion prompts will be addressed.

5. Questions and concerns will be addressed.
