Why a Walk-A-Thon?

•Spring 2013, PTA conducted a Parent Fundraising survey

•“I would prefer to donate directly” #1 response with 48% of all votes & 62% of all PTA members voting

•100% of $$ goes to PTA, versus 50% with traditional product-based fundraiser

Walk-A-Thon

•September 27th, 8:30am-2:00pm

•Primary Fundraising vehicle for BES

•Goal: $10,000

•= a minimum of $50/student

•Please ask for donations from your families, relatives, Church & civic friends, and add your own donation where you can

Walk-A-Thon

• Please check for matching contributions from your employer

• Parents, families, caregivers, are all welcome to join us- it’s a great time!

• We still need additional prizes, corporate and community sponsors

• Current sponsors include: A Cleaner World, Bank of Botetourt, Botetourt Mulch & More, Brugh’s Mill Store, The Homeplace, Kroger, and many, many others!

2013-2014 BudgetOur budget funds our student, teacher, and

operational priorities, provides for fiscal stability, and then makes a significant Technology

Investment in Breckinridge, with the goal of making our children more competitive in the

future.

•S.T.E.M jobs projected to grow by 17% by 2018

•S.T.E.M jobs pay 26% higher wages than non-STEM

•All top 10 highest paying jobs for college graduates are STEM
