The writing component of the series explains aspects of writing that
are required to produce sound academic texts but which students find
difficulty in understanding or mastering. In this seminar, you will learn
how to develop paragraphs, construct a thesis statement, and make
your sentences and paragraphs cohesive.
All fees must be fully paid before commencement of the course. Otherwise, participants will not be allowed to

BIONOTE
Wong Bee Eng is Associate Professor at the English Language Department, Faculty
of Modern Languages and Communication, Universiti Putra Malaysia, and is currently the
Head of Support Services Division, Centre for the Advancement of Language Competence
(CALC), UPM. She obtained her PhD in Linguistics from the University of Essex, United
Kingdom. She has had at least 13 years of experience as a teacher in secondary schools and
13 years of experience as a post-graduate supervisor and examiner of theses on English
language (in linguistics and applied linguistics). Her main research interests are in the areas
of syntactic and morphological mental representation and development, and vocabulary
development in SLA, and L2 reading and writing.
