GRAPHENE MAGNETIC SENSOR
By Phillip Grant Pincock
Bosch Graphene Magnetic Sensor
OBJECTIVES Find how Graphene
can improve sensor performance.
Investigate the material in it’s pressure, magnetic, humidity, gas, and sound pressure devices.
Use bottom up fabrication methods to mass produce the sensors.
The Sensor The magnetic sensor is based
on the Hall effect. Hall Effect – “A magnetic field
induces a Lorentz force on moving electric charge carriers, leading to deflection and a measurable Hall voltage”.
Uses a hexagonal boron nitride substrate.
The Graphene sensor in comparison with a silicon based sensor is significantly better.
Silicon based sensor produced 70 volts per amp-tesla.
Graphene device produced 7000.
Future Plans
Improve applications of Graphene-based sensor to compete with established technologies.
Implement Graphene-based sensors into the market within the next 5-10 years.
Continue looking for ways to use Graphene in commercial technology.
