● Every student who wishes to participate MUST have a signed permission slip on file (even if they participated last year)

Guidelines for the BYOD Pilot

▪ Student is solely responsible for any equipment that he/she brings to school▪All devices that will be used on the school internet connection must be registered with the

district▪ Staff can “verbally coach” students having technical difficulties, but are unable to touch

student devices in order to provide any technical support ▪All students must adhere to the Acceptable Use and Electronic Devices policy▪ Students will need to log into the WAKE-BYOD network each time they connect to wireless▪Devices need to come to school fully charged▪Devices MUST go home each afternoon with students - they should not stay in the

classroom▪Devices should NOT be used outside of the classroom (i.e. recess, cafeteria, YMCA, carpool,

waiting for buses, etc.)

Connecting device to wireless

▪ Go to the WiFi settings on the device

▪ Add “Other”

▪ Name: WAKE-BYOD with no password

▪ Student will need to agree to Acceptable Use Policy each time they log into network
