Hope Everlasting

The Tree of Wisdom Bryony (8)What my picture means is some people have not anything, like electricity, or nice places to live. They have rubbish, not clean places and not a good place to live at all. The tree is the tree of wisdom, and the girl is trying to get the boy to the good side. I have drawn it like this because it meant a lot to me.

Question to ask:

LEADERSHIP

• Is there a clear vision/mission for the school as a church school?

• Does everyone know what it is?

• Are there effective ways of evaluating the impact of the Christian character of the school?

• Are there effective strategies for improvement?

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

From ‘good’ to ‘outstanding’

KEY ISSUES IN RE

• The quality of teaching

• Assessment procedures

• Challenging tasks

• Balance of ‘learning about’ and ‘learning from’

What is the impact of worship on the school community

• Distinctively Christian

• Focus on prayer

• The Trinity???

• Planning and evaluation

Reporting on academic achievement

Possible report statements

• The Christian ethos within xxx school promotes an exceptional level of pastoral care which enables pupils to make good progress and achieve academic standards that are above expected levels.

• The school’s core values permeate all aspects of school life and are the foundation of the undoubted success in raising both standards and progress, which are now broadly in line with national averages

What does ‘outstanding’ look like?
