Long Lake is a medium-sized drainage lake of medium depth in the Town of Osceola, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin. It has a surface area of 427.3 acres. The Kettle Moraine State Forest borders the east shore of the lake and the Village of Dundee is located near the lake outlet.
Eleven percent of the area of Long Lake is less than three feet deep. Fourty-one percent of Long Lake is more than 20 feet deep. The maximum depth of the lake is 47 feet. The length (maximum) is 2.65 miles; the width (maximum) is .44 miles.
Total shore length is 26,400 feet (5.0 miles). Public frontage totals 28 percent of the total; private frontage totals 72 percent.Watercress Creek enters Tittle Lake on the north end; Willow Creek enters into Long Lake in the northwest channel which connects the two lakes; and a creek enters into Long Lake by the channel in Chinatown on the northeast end.
The waters remain clear throughout the year, despite the lake’s fertility and heavy use. The water quality for swimming is generally good. The state forest recreation area includes two public beaches totaling 1,000 feet of frontage. Camping is available at the recreation area and at private facilities. Fishing pressure is average for lakes in the region.
