Car Insurance For New Drivers

When I was one of the new drivers on the road, all I could think of was all the places I could take myself, not having to worry about whether my parents were free to take me or

not.

The freedom of knowing I can just leave whenever I feel like it to go to the movies or a friend’s house was very

exciting.

Then my parents said I would need to get a job to help pay for insurance costs.

While studies have proven that the difference in accidents among male and female teens to be relatively small, the percentage of just how much teenage males add to your insurance compared to teenage females is unmistakable.

While a typical sixteen year old girl increases the average family insurance coverage by approximately 65%, the rise

for adding a sixteen year old male is over 90%.

However, there are ways to lessen that percentage to make adding a young adult slightly less painful.

Lowering Your New Driver’s Car insurance policy

Almost all major insurance agencies offer savings to those people who complete a state accredited defensive driving

course.

In the state of Texas the course must cost at the very least $25 and take at least six hours long.

This discount can last up to three years from a single defensive driving course, so do not hesitate to get started

saving money on your teen's auto insurance.

New Drivers And Good Grades

Universities look for good grades and students active in the community and insurance companies are no different.

Students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher qualify for what most insurance companies call a "Good Student Discount".

Students how maintain good grades have been shown to have a lower risk of getting into a car accident than

students who do not.

New Drivers and Their Car

Although that van might not be the coolest car on the school parking area, it's probably saving enough on

insurance plans to make up for it.

Sports vehicles as expected have the most expensive insurance premiums due to driver's tendencies to want to

enjoy their vehicle's potential.

Your teen's car insurance policy is also based upon the type of car they're authorized to drive.

A less risky, more modest vehicle will yield an annual insurance rate significantly lower than the quick sports

vehicle.

Taking steps to make sure your baby is safe is not unnoticed by insurance providers.
