Careers Wales Online

Vision

– To provide online, all age, bilingual guidance and information service enabling everyone in Wales to develop their career and learning skills through their own e-portfolio and supporting site content equipping them to make informed decisions and support the guidance process. Allowing clients to interact with Careers Wales staff and to receive timely mediated support to help them achieve their learning and career aspirations.

 – To ensure that Careers Wales Online is at the core of the

Assembly’s skills development agenda and that ‘Team Wales’ partners are encouraged to contribute to, and use, Careers Wales Online.

Careers Wales: Review

‘The extent to which it is embedded in Assembly policies. It provides a

strong citizen-facing and citizen-centred infrastructure through which the

Assembly’s policies can be advanced. This is evident in the way that Careers

Wales On-Line has been adopted both as the key guidance tool and as the

key administrative tool for Learning Pathways 14-19. In addition, Careers

Wales performs important gate-keeping roles for a number of Assembly

programmes. Beyond this, it has potential to be used more extensively than at

present to provide feedback to policy-makers on the impact on individuals of

policies relating to education, training and employment, plus advocacy on

individuals’ unmet needs.’1
