Mission
To provide a safe and caring environment
where we work together to be the best that
we can be.
Vision
The effectiveness of our school is
determined on the basis of the conduct,
character, and achievement of our school
community in an exemplary school we
demonstrate:
Compassion
… by being kind with the ability to understand
and respond appropriately to the feelings of
others
Respect
… by treating others as they would like to be
treated and appreciating diversity so they
can bring out the best in themselves and
others
Excellence
… by always trying their best at everything
they do
Safety
… by knowing the difference between right
and wrong to protect themselves and others
from getting hurt
Values
In order to advance our shared vision of an
exemplary school, we will:
*Provide an inviting classroom environment for
students. An environment with clear
expectations, consistent consequences, and
specific, articulated, academic goals.
*Help all students achieve the intended
outcomes of curriculum by addressing their
individual needs and learning styles.
*Use methods of assessment that enable us to
monitor the learning of individual students.
*Collaborate with others and our students so
that we can achieve our collective goals
more efficiently.
*Demonstrate our commitment to going on
professional development and self-
improvement as professionals.
*Promote a positive school environment by
modeling the qualities and characteristics
that we hope to instill in our students.
*Involve parents/guardians in the
education of their children by keeping them
informed of student progress and offering
suggestions for assisting their children.
Principal’s Message:
Hello October and Happy Fall or perhaps winter – YIKES!
September has passed in a flash and it feels like summer is long gone.
Students need to remember to dress appropriately for the changing
weather. A pair of splash pants for this wet weather would be
appreciated.
A focus in September at CRES is teaching and reminding all of our
BOBCAT family about our virtues. We all experience more success as
we focus on our four virtues: Compassion, Respect, Excellence, and
Safety. The grade 3’s and 4’s did a fantastic job reviewing our four
virtues at our first Munchkin Motivators assembly. We also learned a
new BOBCAT cheer that we can practice and use to encourage our
friends at future events. The Grade 4 class has created books for our
Kindergarten students and have spent some time with them teaching
our newest BOBCATS our school virtues and expectations. It is great to
see our student leaders engaging with younger students and sharing
their knowledge.
As always, my door is always open if you have any questions, kudos,
or concerns.

Creative Kids provides financial assistance for children to participate in the same art and cultural
activities as their peers, regardless of a family’s social and financial barriers. We commonly fund
activities such as music lessons, dance classes, and art lessons, and families may apply to Creative
Kids for up to $750 per child, per year, to participate in creative activities. We believe every child
should have an opportunity to participate in creative activities, which are fundamental to the
positive growth and development of children and youth; and that cultural programming is critical to
a healthy, vibrant community.
Families facing financial barriers may apply to Creative Kids for their children and youth to participate
in the same arts and cultural activities as their friends. Up to $750 per child, per year is available for
children aged 4 - 19.
Most families approved for funding have gross annual incomes of less than $40,000, although families
with higher incomes have been supported depending on individual circumstances. Applications are
assessed individually primarily on a family’s financial need. Youth living independently may also
apply.

Our parent feature this month is an overview of ‘Growth Mindset”. Growth mindset shifts our focus
to believing we can grow our brains, learn new things even when they are difficult, making mistakes
helps us learn, and we may not know how to do something “YET”.
Please obey the rules of Safety Patrol!
This includes using the crosswalks, no
jaywalking, and waiting for the whistle.
Please remember these are volunteer
students and captains and they are
trying their best. Thanks.
Please do not drop students off in the bus
loop before school as buses will be coming
in and out of the parking lot side of the
school. In addition, please do not drive into
the bus loop until after 3:40 after ALL of the
buses have left for the day. If you are
involved in after school activities such as
dance please be patient and wait to drive
in or park on Main Street. The safest spot to
drop students off and pick students up is on
the south side of the school by Main Street.
The town recently added an additional
sidewalk, which further enhances drop-off
and pick-up zones.
If students need to be picked up during the
school day for any reason including, but not
limited to, doctor’s appointments, sporting
events, music lessons, illness, or family trips,
please arrange with the classroom teacher
and pick them up at the classroom door. As
a school, we are not allowed to send
students home on their own during class
time or send them out of the building unless
accompanied by an adult. This ensures
they stay safe and we appreciate your
cooperation.
Throughout the school year, we ask you to please keep your
child(ren) at home if they have a terrible cough, fever, and/or
have vomited or had diarrhea in the last day. This is important
to keep our school family safe. We do have members of our
CRES family dealing with compromised immune systems so this
is extremely important. Children have difficulty learning when
they are under the weather and a day or two of rest is best for
them to be ready to learn.
PLEASE CALL THE SCHOOL AT 768-2481 IF YOUR CHILD WILL
NOT BE AT SCHOOL. THANK YOU!
