The Texas Long-Range Plan for Technology (LRPT), 2006-2020 “directly supports the Mission of Texas Public Education by ensuring an engaging, relevant, and future-focused system…preparing each student for success and productivity as a lifetime learner, a world-class communicator, a competitive and creative knowledge worker, and an engaged and contributing member of the emerging global digital society.”
LRPT 2006-2020, pg viii
Purpose of STaR Chart
•Determine progress toward meeting the goals of the Texas Long-Range Plan for Technology, as well as district goals
•Assist in measuring efforts to improve student learning through technology use as specified in NCLB, Title II, Part D
• Identify needs for on-going professional development and raise awareness of research-based instructional goals
STaR Chart Data Collection
•Teachers are required to complete the STaR Chart survey online annually for federally mandated reporting
•The annual STaR Chart survey gauges progress toward integrating technology into the school and curriculum
•Teachers’ scores are averaged and taken into account when principal completes and submits Campus STaR chart to TEA
