Case Study:Emerald Headingley Stadium
The Customer
Emerald Headingley Stadium, one of the most famous in world of sport, encompasses both international rugby and international cricket connected by one central stand. Following a recent renovation, Headingley Stadium can facilitate 1,400
guests for dinner across various executive lounges, bars, 12 private boxes and a roof terrace including the new Emerald Suite that caters for maximum 450 people and over looks both the cricket and rugby pitch.
The Challenge
Headlingley wanted a comprehensive solution for all areas of the stadium, providing their audience with live TV and pre-recorded videos whilst delivering an opportunity for further advertising. Intevi needed to provide a solution that enabled
Headlingley to switch seamlessly between the two brands and stadiums.
The Results
Intevi worked with integrator VisAvvi to install IDT
throughout the stadium resulting in 93 endpoints.
IDT allows Headingley to set simple or complex schedules to automate content delivery, increasing relevancy for seasonal periods, specific lunch-time menus and
promotions. Headingley also use IDT for back of office engagement with all staff and players with in-house communications, training and live press conference feeds.

- QR codes are placed inside Headingley’s 12 private boxes providing visitors with the ability to control the displays from their mobile devices.
Home of Yorkshire County Cricket Club, Leeds Rhinos rugby league and Yorkshire Carnegie rugby union, Headingley Stadium’s reformed ground is now one of the finest stadiums in the world. Headingley underwent a renovation to increase its capacity and adjoin the rugby and cricket grounds.
As part of the new offering Headingley Stadium wanted to provide their audience with a comprehensive digital solution to further improve their facilities. This solution would provide guests with live TV coverage, game highlights and facility information across all displays throughout the Stadium.
Headingley Stadium is split into two brands, making it crucial that the digital media solution was easy to interchange, representing both clubs. This is a key feature in which Intevi’s Digital Television (IDT) provides.
Intevi delivers digital video streams and managed content over Headingley’s IP network to displays throughout the stadium, covering live game feeds as well as pre-recorded video channels presenting key game highlights with end-user control throughout the 12 boxes without the need for remote controls. All whilst providing advertising opportunities throughout.
With these functionalities in place, Headlingley can provide customers with the ultimate experience via unique and personalised content such as customized welcome messages and inspirational quotes throughout the stadium. Headingley’s customers have commented on how ‘easy to use’ the Intevi solutions are
and how the personalised touch ensures a continued return visit. James Eaton, Marketing Executive at Headingley commented ‘we love the flexibility that the IDT system provides us, we can even manage content via the mobile app – it’s that easy and provides us with a seamless experience’.
