COUNTRY OVERVIEW
Sotonye Anga
Nigeria, Africa’s most populous Country, has a population of over 170 million people. Currently the nation produces about 160,000 tons of cashew nuts annually. Cashew in Nigeria is grown in most of the States including: Kogi, Kwara, Enugu, Anambra, Imo, Abia, Cross River, Edo, Nassarawa, Benue, Taraba, Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Ekiti, Delta, Akwa Ibom, Niger and Osun. However, the crop can grow in almost all parts of the Country.
WHAT CASHEW IS
Sotonye Anga
WHY PLANT MORE CASHEW?
Sotonye Anga
• Considering the rising global demand for cashew driven by increased cashew consumption and industrial application/uses for cashew, it makes economic sense to expand cashew production across Nigeria.• The need to diversify Nigeria’s economy from crude oil.• Earn more foreign exchange.• Reduce poverty and create more prosperity.

NATIONAL AVERAGE YIELD

Currently with our traditional seeds, cashew yields are low averaging 600kg per hectare. So achieving 1 ton minimum yield per hectare will prosper our farmers.
