Inflated stock values cause an economic roller coaster ride…(box 2)

Thursday, October 24 1929- stock prices nose dive (box 3)

This idiom means the prices fell quickly!

Tuesday, October 29, 1929 New York stock market crashes. This day

becomes known as “Black Tuesday.” (box 4)

Investors panicked and rushed to sell stocks before prices fell further- no one wanted to buy stocks. (box 5)

Stocks bought on credit created heavy debt. (box 6)

Consumers stopped spending (box 7) Factories shut down (box 8) People lost their jobs (box 9)
