4-Port 10/100 Mbps Ethernet Modulefor the CBX 500 and CBX 3500
Multiservice Switches
The 4-Port 10/100 Mbps Ethernet Module provides high-speed Ethernet access to theCBX 500 and CBX 3500 switches. It also operates as a standard IP routing interface
when used with the MXOS IP/MPLS Feature Pack. You can use this module to create
high-speed links to IP, Ethernet CPE or local hosting servers. With the 4-Port 10/100 Mbps
Ethernet module, you can increase revenue opportunities by adding generic Internet
services, Internet hosting, and value-added point-to-point IP services to your existing
network without significant capital investments.
Applications Offer high-speed Ethernet access
Provide Internet access or value-
added point-to-point IP services
Support Internet hosting and dial
server aggregation services
Features
High performance IP forwarding
for CBX 500 and CBX 3500
Multiservice Switches
Local IP forwarding engine (FE)
makes routing decisions for IP
traffic arriving from Ethernet ports
on the same module, from any
ATM port on the switch, or from
any Label Switched Path (LSP) in
the network
Local IP FE on each Ethernet card
for scalable IP forwarding capacity
Benefits Increase revenue opportunities by adding Internet hosting, Internet
access, and value-added point-to-point IP services to your existing
network
Extend multiservice options by providing Ethernet connectivity to Web
servers, remote access concentrators, and routers
Minimize operating costs and simplify network management with Navis
network management software
