easter Family Brunch & egg huntApril 7th 10 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Chartwell celebrated this year’s easter Family Brunch & egg hunt on a gorgeous spring day! The guest of honor, easter Bunny placed almost 2,000 eggs which were discovered and snatched up into baskets in a matter of brief moments. Logan Clarke and Will Kennedy were among the golden egg winners this year!
We’re under way in the pro-shop. We are getting ready for what should be a great golf season! once, again, I can’t tell you how honored and excited I am to be your Golf Professional. My first big undertaking here at Chartwell is to put the finishing touches on our staff.
our new addition to the staff is Adam steinhofer. Adam is coming to us from the Reserve Club in Indian Wells, CA. Adam first worked for Mark Rechlicz, PGA Golf Professional at Yahara hills Golf Club in Madison, WI. For the last several months Adam has worked under Director of Golf, John Miller at the
Reserve Club. John is a recipient of the prestigious Golf Digest-Best Teacher award and gave Adam a glowing recommendation.
Adam has great experience with golf operations, among on all levels, including junior golf programs. Adam is also an exceptional player. he was a member of the Men’s Golf Team while attending The university of Wisconsin-Madison. As an Amateur, Adam was ranked among the top 10 in the state of Wisconsin in 2006, 2007 & 2008. he holds the course record at Cathedral Canyon Country Club of 64. Adam will be a terrific addition to the team and will represent Chartwell well in the PGA Mid-Atlantic section events.
The Golf shop is starting to take shape. A few new decorations will help give us a unique look and the atmosphere that we are trying to achieve. With ownership of the golf shop changing hands, you can expect to see much more competitive pricing on both hard and soft goods. The spring merchandise lines are also starting to arrive. Anticipate seeing a big change in the apparel. For the men, Donald Ross, Greg Norman, Foot Joy is just some of the lines that will have a strong presence in the shop. New comers like, Peter Millar and Polo will make a nice new splash on the higher-end of things. Ladies should look forward to some fresh new colors from Adidas, eP Pro, and sun Ice. As always if you see something we don’t have in your size, please know that we are always happy to special order items.
This is always an exciting time of the year for golfers because we start to get all the latest and greatest equipment that will help shave a few shots off our handicap. Callaway, Cobra, Ping, Titleist and Taylor Made with the new Rocket Ballz line are the main club manufactures you will see in the golf shop this season. We will of course have all these clubs for you to either try in our fitting systems or in our Demo bags. We will also be having two Demo days in May so that you can try any and all of them back to back. The manufactures will have a launch monitors set-up to help us better fit for drivers on these days.
Upcoming Demo Days
The first Demo Day is on Friday, May 4th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.. We will have Titleist and Taylor Made at this one.
on Friday, May 25th Callaway and Ping will be here from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.. Mark these dates down on your calendars so you don’t miss your chance to hit all the latest and greatest equipment.
even more than years past we will rely on e-mail as our primary means of communication. If you have not been receiving e-mails from us please double check with Anne Connelly in the accounting office that we have your correct address.
The golf calendar is posted on the web-site calendar and each tournament has a short description and some details on FoReTees. Please check out the site so you can mark down in your calendars all of the important dates. The Men’s Golf Package entry information will be posted in the men’s locker to inform you of all the upcoming events. We will continually send notices to remind you when events are open to sign up on FoReTees. These notices will come via e-mail.
