BELL 206 B III - EMERGENCY PROCEDURES ENGINE FAILURE
- Enter autorotation immediately TAIL ROTOR CONTROL FAILURE
• Complete Loss of Thrust - Close throttle - Enter autorotation - Maintain minimum airspeed 50 knots (58 mph)
• Fixed Pitch Failure - Adjust power to minimise excessive yawing - Adjust airspeed to minimise excessive yawing
FUEL CONTROL/GOVERNOR FAILURE - Control power with Throttle if engine overspeeds - Maintain RPM with collective pitch if engine underspeeds - Establish autorotation if power is too low or engine must be shut
down - Prepare for power-off landing
HYDRAULIC SYSTEM FAILURE
- Reduce airspeed to 61-69 knots (70-80 mph) - HYD BOOST c/b: ON (OFF if power is not restored) - Land as soon as practical and investigate - (A run-on landing at 10-15 knots (12-17 mph) is recommended
GENERATOR FAILURE
- Cycle GENerator switch. If power is not restored: OFF - All electrical equipment: OFF (to conserve battery) - Required electrical equipment: ON (only as needed) - Reduce altitude to below 6000 feet (1830 m)
BOOST PUMP FAILURE
- Descend to below 6000 feet (1830 m) CAUTION : UNUSABLE FUEL: 10 U.S. GALLS (38 LITERS)
ENGINE FIRE DURING FLIGHT - Close throttle - Enter autorotation immediately - FUEL VALVE switch: OFF - BATTery switch: OFF - GENerator switch: OFF - Execute autorotational landing

CAUTION:DO NOT ATTEMPT AIR-RESTART ABOVE 12'000 FEET (3660 M)
RED L I G H T S
ENG OUT (audio and light)
Engine failure. Enter autorotation
BATTERY HOT Land as soon as possible (Do not use helicopter battery for restart)
A M B E R L I G H T S
ROTOR LOW RPM (audio and light)
1. Reduce collective pitch 2. Check throttle full open
TRANS TEMP Land as soon as possible TRANS PRESS Land as soon as possible TRANS CHIP Land as soon as possible ENG CHIP Land as soon as possible T/R CHIP Land as soon as possible FUEL FILTER Land as soon as practical A/F FUEL FILTER Land as soon as practical FUEL PUMP
1. Descend to below 6000 feet (1830 m) CAUTION: UNUSABLE FUEL: 10 U.S. GALLS.
FUEL LOW Plan landing (approx. 20 Galls left) BATTERY TEMP
1. Move battery switch to OFF until battery cools and light extinguishes 2. BATTery switch: ON
GEN FAIL
1. Gen switch – RESET; then ON 2. If power not restored – Gen switch OFF 3. All unnecessary equipment off 4. Reduce altitude to below 6000 ft PA 5. Land as soon as practical
