Women in AsiaSydney HendricksChildren's Book

PBA

Mongol women were very powerful and

strong!

They were moms.

They helped with the animals.

They sometimes worked in the “Khuriltai.”

This was the Mongol’s government.

Some of them were strong warriors!

Even though the

women could do all of

this, men still had more

power than them.

Mongol women were

treated much better

than other women in

Asia.

The women in China were

not so lucky.

They had to be obedient to

their husbands.

They had to complete all

of the domestic duties of

the house, like cooking

and cleaning.

The Chinese men

really liked tiny feet.

They made the

women bind their

feet, which is where

they wrap them up

super tight.

Because their feet were bound, the

Chinese women usually did not leave

their house.

They did not get rights until

modern times.

The roles of women is Asia was different

from region to region, but the Mongolian

women were treated much better than

the Chinese women.
