We at Immaculate Conception are a group of people bound together by our belief in Jesus Christ as our Savior. When we were baptized, we were called to share in His work. Therefore we pledge ourselves to build a community where
all are welcomed, loved, needed and appreciated. Armed with the faith in the Immaculate Conception of Mary, we will celebrate the gift of life together in word and sacrament.

Prayers and Playfulness
Items Needed: Pinecone, bird seed, peanut butter, & wire
Look at the birds in the sky; they do not sow or reap, they gather nothing into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are not you more important than they? Matthew 6:26
Our lives are in God’s hands and we have to trust that He will take care of us as He takes care of the birds in the sky. We can make it easier for birds to cluster in our backyard trees by hanging an easy-to-make birdfeeder. Look under evergreen trees to find pinecones. First, wrap wire tightly around the wide end to at-tach to a tree after it’s made. With a knife, spread peanut butter over the entire pinecone. Then, roll it in birdseed. Ensure that it sticks into the nooks and crannies of the pinecone. That’s all there is to it. Hang it on a tree and watch the birds flock to it.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for feeding the wild birds and animals. Thank You for nourishing me with Your rich abundance of love. Thank You for filling me up. I love You, Lord. Amen.

College Age Care-Packages
In December we will be sending care packages to our parish’s college stu-dents. Please contact the Parish Office and give us your college student’s ad-dress.
Dear friends, Several years ago my husband and I decided to re-do our family budget by completing the “Road map to financial freedom” by Crown Ministries. For the first month we had to record every purchase made, even a pack of gum or cup of coffee. Then we had to classify each item as a need, a want or a desire. It became a family joke to question family members how much they really wanted to buy something! I thought of this budget process this past week during our study on the book of Psalms. The question posed at the start of session six was, “What are your deep-est desires?” I put my book down and thought about my answer. It was really hard! I love lots of things; sewing, cooking, my family, nature, history…” But what was a deep desire? How would you answer that question? Session six was centered on the Psalms that used a common expression: Thirsting for God. Instead of always thinking about our own desires, we were encouraged to turn to God when things get us down and find his joy. When you get a quiet mo-ment, you should look through the Book of Psalms in the Bible and see if any speak to you! Just an update on the Sleeping Bag Workshop held last Saturday. We had 11 ladies show up to make 5 warm sleeping bags in sizes small to extra-large. Each was rolled up with a pair of socks, a hat, some toilet articles and a small towel. We will be taking these to the shelter in Binghamton called Volunteers of America. Thank you to the ladies who gave up a few hours last week for this fun and important ser-vice project. Thank you to Jess and Jim Trepa for hosting the fun day for our middle school youth. They had a pump-kin roll party out on the back lawn of the church. They decorated pumpkins and then rolled them down the homemade chute to see whose would roll the farthest. It was a beautiful fall day for rolling pumpkins! Please mark your calendars for the parish retreat on Nov. 18 and also the 8:45 am Mass on Thanksgiving Day. Thank you for being part of ICC. Peace! ~Mary Wentlent
