The game Encounter is a card game combined with different forms of role-play.

The Game „Encounter“ ist an educational game:

To learn to empathize with somebody and to understand others perspektivs or social inter-actions in a society.

To learn to be a part of the society and to grow to be able to contribute to a society.

The approach of the game is to recognise as many social figures as possible while creating a society.

Who identifies the most characters wins the game.

The social figures are sorted into two types of activism.

The figures with a specific motivation towards the society.

The figures with a specific movement within the society.

To start, every player picks two social figures an keeps them secret.

From now on she/he acts in the role of the given social figure.

There are three tasks in this game. The player picks one and tells a story.

A B C

Task A: Built a part of the landscape of the society.

Task B: Perform a personal situation.

Task C: Help yourself out of the situation.

The single builts lots of parks to meet.

The diva builts a shop right in the middle.

Either you draw your story.

„I am writing down the exact time, the exact stay and the exact measurments of your car standing in the non-parking zone in front of my house. Every day since you moved here.“

(Maybe this person is a square and had the task to be upset.)

Or you just tell your story.

With telling your story you give first traces to your social figure‘s identity and the others can take notes who you might be.

For each story the player has told she/he gets quality points by the other players.

With a specific amount of points she/he can get the permission to guess who the other player‘s sozial figure might be.

By creating the landscape of the society and interacting with each other – the players learn to build models and identify models of societies and social figures.

The players experience to be a part of the society and to be designers of the society.

With encounter, they start to ‚count‘ as they leave traces in the society.

Doing this means they perform their social figures properly.

With constructing a society that reflects the needs of the single players as well as of the community

Thank you very much for your attention.
