bridges, tunnels, dams, and buildings.

One of the oldest engineering disciplines

Subdisciplines include:

Environmental Engineering

Hydraulic Engineering

Working to improve our natural

environment and provide healthy water,

air, and land

Study the behavior and properties of soil

Analyze structures that resist or support

loads. These structures include bridges

and buildings.

These engineers design highways, airport,

bus and railway systems

Includes designing and constructing

streets, water lines, and sewer lines;

water treatment plants and sewer

treatment plants.

This branch of engineering is concerned

with the collection, storage, and

transport of water. These engineers

would be responsible for the design of

levees or drainage ditches
