The modern ALP magazine is defined as a removable, spring-loaded, ammunition supply component designed and structured to receive, fit, and hold a specific number of rounds consistent with the precise caliber, make and model of pistol

STRIPPER CLIPS

CLIPS, on the other hand, are metal brackets used to hold cartridges together for the purpose of charging a magazine, e.g., stripper clips used to charge M-4/AR-15 platform magazines.

Garand magazine, which is integral with the receiver, operates differently: Once all rounds have been fired, the charging handle is held to the rear, thus automatically ejecting an empty 8-round CLIP from the magazine.
