From Learning to Success is the topic of thisyear’s Climb conference at the University ofApplied Labour Studies in Mannheim. Thefocus of the international event is »educationalachievers« and lifelong learning. Climbexplores traditional, vocational andnon-traditional routes to employment takinginto account educational and labour marketframeworks and opportunities.
The dynamic and thought-provokingopportunity draws on perspectives ofvocational and academic pathways to successon the labour market. We examine scientificresults and specific case studies with thetheme.
This year’s presentations will offer not only anoverview of international educationalparticipation and contemporary research.
We will explore learning outside of traditionalinstitutional settings and as part of individualpersonal development and »life stories«. Welook at the experiences of »first generationstudents«, migrants, vocational trainees andolder employees in order to learn from avariety of contexts.
But what can we learn? What challenges thesegroups of people have to overcome? How canthis inform improvements in structuralframeworks? What can international andGerman educational landscape tell us?
Climb provides an opportunity to explorethese issues and what can be learnt forsuccess on the labour market.
